In the fall of 2010, as more houses began to be demolished, and I could not remember what the original houses looked like, I began taking photos of the ones I thought might be torn down. Eventually, I created this blog. At that time, I had NO IDEA that Dunbar houses would disappear in such great numbers or that the demolition of houses would become such a major issue in Vancouver, and especially in the Dunbar area. People were just beginning to be aware of foreign investors parking capital here.
In September 2010 this house was listed for sale at $1.348 million. The latest assessment is almost twice that amount. I took these photos at the time it was listed for sale.
Note the slice of the house to the right; it's a large 1920 house that is loved, lived in, and kept in great shape.

Built in 1929 and probably not upgraded or remodeled, so this small house would have required a major investment to bring it up to today's requirements. Demolished mid February 2016.
